230 The Francis A. Drexel Family
And next to Seattle
Where they met many friends
And heard little ones prattle.
Their kind hostess at Portland
They must ever remember,
Who dined the whole party
The last of September.
Much pleasure they've had
And the time has most come
When the party disbands
Each goes to his home.
But long will they think
Of the days that have gone
On the Northern Pacific
Not forgetting their John
When they part, let us hope
They will soon meet again
On Atlantic's great slope
And the friendship
That on the Pacific began
Grow stronger and warmer with Time.—
